In 2014 it was planned to release the Lost Alpha as an official add on for S.T. After a while, it became more than just a modification, it became a new standalone game. The project first started out as a modification to add back the cut levels which all Stalker fans knew of.
The development of the Lost Alpha started in the summer of 2008.
